Climate Data Lab: Analysis, Storytelling and Decision-Making

P4SEDI's Executive Director, Eme Okang, served as a facilitator at Dataphyte Academy's two-day climate data training. Her session, Localizing Climate Data for Community Resilience in Nigeria, explored ways to connect climate information with local understanding and practical decisions.

The training was organised by Dataphyte Academy. This entry documents the Executive Director's individual facilitation, not a P4SEDI-organised programme.

IMABEC Marine and Blue Economy Conference

P4SEDI's Executive Director, Eme Okang, presented a scientific paper titled Blue Planet Fund: A Model for Robust Financing of Nigeria's Sustainable Blue Economy at the IMABEC conference.

Prof. Raphael Ayama Offiong, Chairman of P4SEDI's Board of Trustees, facilitated conference discussions, on Economic Diversification and Coastal Development: Host Communities Inclusiveness.

Technical visit with clean energy partners

Exploring Local Innovations in Clean Energy

P4SEDI joined the University of Calabar Carbon Innovation Centre (UCIC) and Greene Innovation Hub on a technical visit to the workshop of Engr. Emmanuel Ntiti. The team explored locally developed approaches to cleaner household energy and energy conservation.

The visit included observation of briquette processing and a live demonstration of alternative-fuel cooking technology.

Carbon Innovation Exhibition

P4SEDI joined its partners, UCIC and Greene Innovation Hub, at a science and technology innovation exhibition showcasing practical approaches to carbon reduction, cleaner energy and sustainable resource use.

Locally fabricated innovations displayed by the Greene Innovation team included work developed by Technologist Emmanuel Ntiti.

Urban Landscape and Climate Change Advocacy

P4SEDI paid a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Cross River State Commissioner for Housing, Mrs Beatrice Igwe, to discuss the relationship between urban landscapes, housing development and climate change.

The engagement reflected P4SEDI's commitment to bringing environmental considerations into conversations with public institutions and decision-makers.

Field research team in a Niger Delta coastal zone

Seaweed Exploration and Field Research

P4SEDI participated in coastal field exploration with a group of academic researchers searching for seaweed resources across parts of the Niger Delta.

The exploration formed part of research interest in seaweed and its potential relevance to alternatives to plastic pollution. Further project details will be added as the research record is consolidated.
